Talk

A square for the company, a window for the conversation.

Fora has one feed everybody reads and full messaging underneath it. The difference is what a message can hold: any post or reply can link the project, doc, goal or person it's about, and the link stays live.

The feed, a docked window, and a message that links the task it's about.

The feed everyone actually reads

Company-wide news goes in one place and stays there. An Important post wears the one amber accent Fora allows itself, so it means something when you see it. Everything else waits quietly until you're ready — the product never nags.

  • Regular, Important, poll, live, file and Q&A posts
  • Read tracking, so you know it landed — “Seen by 84”
  • Open, closed and secret groups, each with its own feed and files
  • One Spark badge for what needs you. Never a wall of red

Messaging that docks

Chat follows the Messenger shape people already know, because a chat window should not need explaining. Windows dock at the bottom of whatever page you're on, so you can answer someone without leaving the board you were reading.

  • A full three-pane messenger, or windows docked bottom-right
  • Minimize a window and the draft survives
  • Voice and video from the same window, no new app
  • @ mentions resolve to a real person and notify once

Every project has a chat, and its roster is the project

The thing that rots in other tools is the gap between who is on the project and who is in the channel about the project. In Fora there is no gap, because they are the same list.

  • Add someone to the project and they're in the chat
  • Remove them and they're out — one membership, not two
  • Any message becomes a task, assigned to whoever sent it
  • The task keeps a link back to the message that started it

Questions

Is this a Slack replacement or a Teams replacement?
Both, and it replaces the intranet at the same time. The reason to move isn't that Fora chats better — it's that in Fora the conversation sits next to the work it's about, so the thread doesn't scroll away from its own decision.
What happens to the messages when a project ends?
Nothing. The chat stays attached to the project, and the project stays linked to the goal it served and the docs it produced. That's the point of a work graph — the history is still reachable from anything it touched.
Can people outside the company be in a conversation?
Yes, as scoped guests. A guest reaches only what they've been granted, and their access is visible in the admin console.
